Ashley Hinson

Ashley Hinson assumed office as the U.S. representative for Iowa's 1st Congressional District on Jan. 3, 2021. After redistricting, she won re-election in 2022 to represent the 2nd District, which comprises much of the old 1st District.

Hinson was born on June 27, 1983. She graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Arts degree in broadcast journalism. Prior to serving in elected office, Hinson was a reporter for KCRG-TV in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Hinson served in the Iowa House of Representatives from 2017-2021, representing the 67th District.
