Krish Vignarajah was a Democratic candidate for governor of Maryland in 2018.

Vignarajah was born in Sri Lanka on September 16, 1979, and was raised in Gaithersburg, Maryland. She received her B.S., M.S. and J.D. from Yale University, as well as an MA in philosophy from Oxford University. After school, Vignarajah started her career at a law firm before moving to the public sector.

Before running for governor, Vignarajah worked as the senior advisor for the United States Department of State and as policy director for Michelle Obama.
