Kara H. Eastman was the 2018 Democratic nominee for the U.S. House of Representatives for Nebraska's 2nd Congressional District, losing to incumbent Don Bacon.
Eastman was born on November 6, 1971. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Pitzer College and a Master of Social Work degree from Loyola University Chicago. She has worked with various nonprofit organizations, and in 2006, she started the Omaha Healthy Kids Alliance, a nonprofit organization that focuses on lead poisoning prevention.
