Biography
Ileana Ros-Lehtinen represented Florida's 18th District and then the 27th District in the United States House of Representatives from 1989-2019.
Ros-Lehtinen was born July 15, 1952, in Havana, Cuba. She completed her Associate of Arts from Miami-Dade Community College in 1972 and received her Bachelor of Arts from Florida International University in 1987. Ros-Lehtinen was awarded a Master of Science from Florida International University of Miami in 1987 and a Doctorate of Education from the University of Miami in 2004.
Ros-Lehtinen served as a member of the Florida State House of Representatives from 1982 to 1986 and served in the Florida State Senate from 1986 to 1989.
