Monica De La Cruz is a member-elect of the U.S. House, representing Texas' 15th Congressional District. She ran for re-election to the U.S. House to represent Texas' 15th Congressional District, and won in the general election on November 8, 2022.

De La Cruz was born on November 14, 1974. She was raised in Brownsville, Texas. She earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio and attended a Spanish language studies program at La Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico.

Her professional experience includes working as an insurance agent in Rio Grande Valley. She owns and operates her own insurance agency. She became the first new female agent in the Rio Grande Valley to earn the prestigious President’s Club award, an honor bestowed upon the top 50 agents in the country.
