Mai Khanh Tran was a 2018 candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives to represent California's 39th Congressional District, losing in the primary.

Tran was born in Vietnam, but moved to Oregon and later California to escape the wars there. She earned a Bachelor of Science from Harvard and her Doctor of Medicine from Dartmouth Medical School. She has spent her career as pediatrician in Orange County, California.
