Linda Coleman was the 2018 Democratic nominee for the U.S. House of Representatives for North Carolina's 2nd congressional district, losing to incumbent George Holding.

Coleman was born on July 12, 1949, in Greenville, North Carolina. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from North Carolina A&T State University and later a Master's of Public Administration from the University of Pittsburgh.

Coleman began her professional career as a teacher. She then was a Wake County commissioner for four years, and worked as human resources management director at the state's Departments of Agriculture and Administration and as personnel director for the Department of Community Colleges. Coleman served in the North Carolina General Assembly from 2005 to 2009, and in 2009 was appointed as director of the Office of State Personnel.
