Dr. Yadira Caraveo is a pediatrician and U.S. representative-elect for Colorado’s 8th congressional district.

Yadira was born on December 23, 1980, and was raised in Adams County, Colorado. She attended public schools in Adams County and would go on to earn a B.S. in biology from Regis University and an M.D. from the University of Colorado.

She is currently a member of the Colorado House of Representatives, representing District 31. She was named a Champion of Change by President Obama for her work with the Union of Concerned Scientists. Her organizational affiliations include serving as the assistant secretary of the Adams County Democratic Party and as a board member for the Early Childhood Partnership of Adams County and the Colorado Behavioral Health Transformation Council. Prior to assuming office, she worked as a pediatrician within her Colorado neighborhood.
