Biography
Barbara Kirkmeyer ran for election to the U.S. House to represent Colorado’s 8th Congressional District in 2022, losing in the general election.
Kirkmeyer was born on September 15, 1958. She earned a bachelor's degree in physical education from the University of Colorado in 1980. Her career experience includes working as a business owner and dairy farmer.
She is a member of the Colorado State Senate, representing District 23. She currently serves on the Senate Education, Senate Health and Human Services, and Senate Local Government Committees. She was also appointed to the Statutory Revisions Committee, where she serves as Chair of the Public-School Finance Interim Committee and vice chair of the Early Childhood and School Readiness Interim Committee.
