Biography

Barbara Kirkmeyer was the Republican nominee for the U.S. House to represent Colorado’s 8th Congressional District in 2022, losing in the general election. 

Kirkmeyer was born on September 15, 1958. She earned a bachelor's degree in physical education from the University of Colorado in 1980. Her career experience includes working as a business owner and dairy farmer. 

Kirkmeyer served 19 years as a county commissioner for Weld County, Colorado, from 1993 to 2000 and again from 2009 to 2020. She is a member of the Colorado State Senate, representing District 23.
