Kim Weaver

Kim Weaver was a candidate for U.S. Congress for Iowa's 4th congressional district in the 2016 election, but lost to incumbent Rep. Steve King in the general election. In March 2017, she announced that she would challenge King again in 2018, but withdrew from the race in June 2017.

Weaver was born in Des Moines, Iowa. She received her bachelor's degree in communications from Iowa State University.

Weaver started her career as a direct care provider at Village Northwest in Sheldon, Iowa. From 1996 to 2007, she was a targeted Medicaid case manager with the Iowa Department of Human Services. Since 2007, she has worked for the Office of the State Long-Term Care Ombudsman as an advocate for seniors in nursing homes, assisted living programs, and residential care facilities.
