GLASSON: I can recall a patient, a young gentleman, was in the ICU. He's diabetic, he was admitted to the intensive care unit because he couldn't afford and the pharmacy wouldn't give him insulin, a vial of insulin that probably cost about $12 for the bottle, but instead he ends up in the intensive care unit because he doesn't take his insulin and he's in the intensive care unit for 3 to 5 days. The cost of an insulin bottle versus the cost of being in an intensive care unit is ridiculous, and we need to do a better job of making sure that people get the care they need when they need it and not make it so difficult for people to access a system that should be the greatest health care system in the world.
