The best of Alaska - Sept 6, 2016

MURKOWSKI: Alaska is a place of seasons. There is a crispness in the air. Fall to me is a time of traditions. As an Alaskan family, it was the time that we come together to prepare for winter. Whether it was the sweet syrupy smell of the raspberry jam that is being cooked on the stove to be canned, or whether it's preparing for the annual fall hunt and all of the preparation that goes on and then the excitement of being there on that opening day of hunting season and to know that this is the Alaska that I grew up in. It is just the richness of yet another phase of Alaskan life.
