Biography

Gwen Moore assumed office January 2005, representing Wisconsin's 4th District in the United States House of Representatives.

Moore was born April 18, 1951, in Racine, Wisconsin. She completed a Bachelor of Arts in political science at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1978.

Prior to entering the United States Congress, Moore served as a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly (1989 to 1992) and as a member of the Wisconsin State Senate (1993 to 2004). She was elected as the Democratic co-chair of the Congressional Women's Caucus in January 2011.
