Biography

Christina Giunchigliani was a Democratic candidate for governor of Nevada in 2018. She served as Clark County commissioner in Nevada from 2007 to 2019. 

Giunchigliani was born in Lucca, Italy, on November 27, 1954. Her family then moved to Chicago where she grew up. She attended Avila College in Kansas City, Missouri, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in special education. She then earned her Master of Arts in education at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. 

Giunchigliani's political career started when she was elected to the Nevada Assembly from the 9th District in 1990. She held this position until 2006, when she was elected Clark County commissioner.
