Biography

Betsy Dirksen Londrigan was the 2018 and 2020 Democratic nominee to the U.S. House of Representatives for the 13th Congressional District of Illinois, losing in the general election both times. 

Londrigan was born and raised in Springfield, Illinois, and graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. After graduation, she was a corps member with Teach For America, teaching 7th and 8th grade in Baltimore, Maryland. She is a former staffer for Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), and worked at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library Foundation for seven years before beginning her campaign for Congress. She is the co-founder of Women Rising, an organization that works to elect female candidates to public office.
