This Is Our Fight - Sep. 4, 2024

KOUZOUNAS: Human trafficking, fentanyl, cartel violence, these aren't just border issues, they're American issues. And Maine is no different.

I'm Demi Kouzounas. I'm an army veteran running for U.S. Senate. I'm here at the southern border witnessing this disaster firsthand. As a daughter of immigrants who came here legally, I know what legal immigration can do for our country. But what I'm seeing today is destroying our communities. Food banks? Empty. Hospitals? Overwhelmed. And migrants just trying to find a better life are being exploited by vicious cartels.

For them, this isn't compassion, it's a crisis. But it's a crisis we can solve. We must empower law enforcement to stop the flow of drugs and crime, ensure our hospitals get the resources they need, and close the border to cartels and trafficking operations.
