Who Am I | April Mclain-Delaney for Congress -- October 25, 2023

April Mclain-Delaney: I'm April Mclain-Delaney, a Democrat running for Congress in Maryland's Sixth District, so who am I? I'm the daughter of an Idaho potato farmer, a wife, and proud mother of four daughters. I help lead a national non-profit to protect kids while online. And most recently, I proudly served in the Biden administration at he Department of Commerce. So why do I want to run given the absolute out of control craziness now present in Congress? Well, to me, it's about getting normality into our politics, it's about integrety and good faith, about rebuilding trust in government, and demanding our leaders work to find common sense common ground. The District and our Nations are facing some really tough challenges. A high cost of living, the impact of AI and technology on work and on families, a need to fix immigration, protect women's reproductive freedoms, climate change, and yes: hyperpartisanship and a lack of dialogue ripping apart communities and preventing the progress we need. I want to represent the Sixth District because we all need to stand up for our democracy. Collectively we can face these challenges head on. Come on, we can do this.
