PARKER: I went into Senator Murray’s office. I told her that I was a victim of child sexual assault. She held my hand and she said, “I’m gonna help you.” I told Patty Murray that Native women needed to be included in the Violence Against Women Act, that all women deserve to be protected. In 2013, the Violence Against Women Act was passed. There are women including Native American women who are now safer because of Patty Murray.

MURRAY: I’m Patty Murray, and I sponsor this message.
