HANABUSA: Hawaii is very vulnerable.

ANNOUNCER: Colleen Hanabusa shares her concerns for Hawaii.

HANABUSA: We only have four members in the United States Congress—two in the Senate and two in the House. So you can't have somebody who votes no on a bill that's gonna ensure that teachers don't lose their jobs. Our elderly rely heavily on Medicaid. Why would you vote no on a bill that gives us Medicaid? What about those who are unemployed through no fault of their own? Unemployment benefits represent 6,000 families. Why would you vote no on that?

ANNOUNCER: Colleen believes Hawaii deserves more than the politics of “no.”

HANABUSA: It's very easy to kill pieces of legislation. What is difficult is consensus. “No” is not a solution.
