Carmen Goers for Congress - Feb. 16, 2023

GOERS: I'm Carmen Goers and I'm running for Congress in Washington's 8th congressional district. I love living here, I loved raising my family here, but what I don't like is the way D.C. has forgotten the cost of being a parent, a grandparent, and a professional. You know, go to the store, your eggs: seven dollars. My bread: five dollars. Utilities: it's hard to keep up. As a professional in the financial sector, I see every day how these soaring prices are really just a tax on middle class families like mine all over Washington.

I'm fed up. I know you are, too. We need a change, and that's why I'm running for Congress. When I'm elected, I will make sure D.C. manages their budget, just like you and I do as a mother and as a businesswoman. I'm going to give other small businesses their freedom to give us more options at the supermarket, the gas station, and our clothing stores. Washington, let's get to work.
