LOU TOBIN: Nome lost its salmon 20 years ago to bycatch and intercept fisheries. And we've never gotten it back. Now they don't even think we've got a viable fishery to defend, and that's scary.

The fishing industry is running rampant, and the commercial fishermen are doing well, but they're just not listening to what's needed to keep our stocks and our salmon successful. Mary's the best candidate for Alaska because she's the only one that understands this and is relentless in pushing for it.
