FARLEY: Two centuries ago, the Erie Canal enabled people and ideas to spread from one end of New York State to the other, growing cities and towns from Albany to Buffalo. Transportation has defined New York's history, and it's just as critical to our future. For too long, investment in transformational infrastructure projects, paid for with New Yorkers tax dollars, have flowed to other parts of the country leaving us with deteriorated roads and bridges that are both unsafe and an impediment to new jobs and prosperity. In Buffalo, we must extend Metro Rail to UV’s Amherst campus. The metro rail expansion will unlock the vast potential of a medical campus and downtown's Renaissance, integrating the region's economy. It's time that we put New York first and that's exactly what I'm going to do. As New York senator I will make our future a priority again.
