PRESTON: I met Donna as a home healthcare worker, I used to take care of her mom. Donna Shalala wants everyone to have an equal opportunity at a great education. My nursing career started the day I sat at her dining room table. She said, “slide on over, what school are we going to?” She is the doer of the doers. She helped me apply and she helped me get the financial aid that I needed. I just graduated and now I’m a nurse. There would be no greater, louder, better voice to have than Donna Shalala.
