ANDREA MARTIN: I know what it's like to have someone save your life – twice. When my children and I escaped my violent husband, Crossroads Shelter found us a place to stay. And when I was severely beaten by a landlord, the Rhode Island Crime Victims Fund helped me recover. Gina Raimondo helped expand the Crossroads Shelter and as treasurer she fixed the Crime Victims Fund. It had a 900-case backlog. Gina saved my life – twice.
