Ernst on Delay of August Work Period - July 11, 2017

Recently, I joined a number of my Senate colleagues in asking that the August work period be canceled. The August work period, commonly known as recess and today I was pleased to hear Senator Mitch McConnell our majority leader state that we would be working through the first two weeks of August. We have a lot more work to get done in Washington DC, and I want to make sure that I am working hard for Iowans on issues that are important to them, so whether it's health care and making sure that it's affordable for all Iowans or working on items of national security, we will be here to work for you.
