Protecting Our 2nd Amendment - December 7, 2017

NOEM: So I grew up in a family that always had a shotgun in the pickup, and our family vacations were hunting in the mountains. So the Second Amendment is very important to not just our country, but South Dakota. Our kids need to grow up respecting the value and the protections that our Constitution gives them, recognizing that it's a statement on what the government's role in our lives should be and should not be. I know Christie hunts and fishes just like I do and enjoys that, her family does, and I know for sure where she will stand on the Second Amendment to protect that for South Dakotans. That right to bear arms gives us an opportunity to talk to our kids about the values that this country was founded on and also gives us an opportunity to pass on the heritage of living off the land, enjoying the culture that we have right here in South Dakota.
