CLINTON: By the time President Obama took office and I became Secretary of State, Iran was racing toward a nuclear capability.

FOX NEWS REPORTER: Iran went from zero known centrifuges in operation to more than 5,000.

CLINTON: I traveled the world, capital by capital, leader by leader, twisting arms to help build the global coalition that produced some of the most effective sanctions in history. This is what diplomacy and engagement is about, this is in the interest of our people, our security, our safety, and our friends and allies.

FOX NEWS REPORTER: China and Russia is not going to go along with this, and we can't, we can't move if they're not going to go along with us.

CLINTON: Today I am pleased to announce to this committee, we have reached agreement on a strong draft with the cooperation of both Russia and China.

FORMER DEFENCES SECRETARY ROBERT GATES: She played a critical role in getting the much tougher sanctions on Iran and getting bigger the Russians and the Chinese on board.

CNN NEWS REPORTER: The state department had finally persuaded Russia and China to get on board with sanctions, so Secretary Clinton had the leeway to set that bar much higher.

CLINTON: That pressure gave us leverage necessary to get to the negotiating table.

COLIN POWELL: Here's why I think it's a good deal, they have been on a superhighway for the last ten years to create a nuclear weapon, and so we have stopped this highway race that they were going down. And I think that's very important.

CLINTON: This agreement, combined with strong enforcement and deterrence, is the only way to prevent Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon. We need to come together to ensure that this president, and the next president have the tools, resources and support to send a clear message to Iran. Sheet, and you will pay when you threaten the region and Israel, you threaten America. We will keep confronting you on human rights and terrorism, and make no mistakes, we will never allow you to acquire a nuclear weapon. Not just during the term of this Agreement, never.
