WOMAN #4: …first by the families into which they were born…

MAN #1: When we're reminded of the bounty and protection we enjoy…

WOMAN #2: Our gratitude has its roots in a view of government that dates back to the Pilgrims

MAN #2: And to the successive waves of immigrants…

WOMAN #5: …who came to this country…

Woman #3: …seeking religious and political freedom and better economic opportunity.

WOMAN #2: In this view, government is an instrument…

MAN #1: …both to promote the common good and to protect individuals' rights…

MAN #2: …to life…

WOMAN #3: …liberty…

WOMAN #4: …and the pursuit of happiness.

WOMAN #5: Nothing is more important to our shared future than the well-being of children.

MAN #2: For children are at our core…

WOMAN #1: …not only as vulnerable being in need of love and care, but as a moral touchstone amidst the complexity and…

MAN #3: …contentiousness of modern life.
