ANNOUNCER: The Honolulu Star-Advertiser endorses Colleen Hanabusa for Congress. They write, “Hanabusa’s views are closer to those of the majority of residents in Honolulu's 1st Congressional District. She deserves their votes.” Djou has negated votes by Representative Mazie Hirono, casting “no” votes on legislation such as campaign finance reform, energy reform and cost-saving single-payer Medicare. The Star-Advertiser notes that while Hanabusa is against extending the Bush tax cuts for the nation's wealthiest 2 percent, Djou wants the rich to be included in the extension, trusting that it will “trickle down” into job creation. That's a misguided leap of faith. And the Star-Advertiser concludes, “Hanabusa has joined Governor Lingle and most of Hawaii’s elected officials in praise of federal stimulus spending to create jobs.” That realization, rather than partisan sarcasm, would best serve Hawaii in Congress.

HANABUSA: I'm Colleen Hanabusa. I approve this message and I humbly ask you for your vote.

ANNOUNCER: Paid for by the Hanabusa 2010 committee.
