CLIPS OF REPORTERS:

State representative Robin Kelly…

Robin Kelly…

Robin Kelly announced her official candidacy for the second District congressional seat today.

DON ROSE: She has to be considered a major contender

CLIPS OF REPORTER: Kelly says she's running because she's tired of right-wing policies in Congress.

KELLY: …all the women and men in our community living paycheck to paycheck, wondering why the Tea Party Congress spends more time trying to take down our president than lift up our country…. There's so many families out there who are working their hearts out trying to make it. I can relate to those families, being a struggling single mom.

JOHN OSTENBURG: Robin Kelly has a magnetic personality. I think that's the best way to describe it. Just about anyone who's in the room with her is just naturally drawn to her.

BARBARA MOORE: The outpouring of support for Robin has been overwhelming. People are really enthusiastic about her.

KELLY: Together we're going to stare down the politicians, the pundits and the power brokers who don't believe that we can change Congress.

MICHELLE MILLS: She's strong, she's dedicated, she's passionate, and she has a drive to really make a difference.

KELLY: We're going to reach out to every corner of this district, from the south side of Chicago to the suburbs from the rural neighborhoods of Will County to the neighborhoods of Kankakee and we're going to represent everyone when we win. That is why, ladies and gentlemen, I am running for Congress.
