HORACE NEARHOOD: I’m a World War II veteran. For years it seemed like most of Congress had forgotten about us. Not Marcy Kaptur. Marcy passed the largest increase in veterans’ health care in history. She also passed the second GI Bill, giving younger veterans free college tuition. And it was Marcy Kaptur who wrote the bill that created this World War II memorial, so future generations would always recall our sacrifice.
