ANNOUNCER: Here in Michigan, Congressman Gary Peters is having a fundraiser with his friend Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren, the self-proclaimed intellectual founder of the Occupy Wall Street movement. Congressman Gary Peters talks about getting tough on Wall Street, but Wall Street isn’t worried. Gary Peters spent 20 years as a Wall Street insider himself, and Peters took more than two million from Wall Street bankers and the financial industry—the industry Peters’ Congressional committee is supposed to monitor—while working on new financial regulation that helped make “too big to fail” Wall Street firms even bigger. So while Congressman Gary Peters talks tough, even joining Occupy protests to march on the same Wall Street banks he was taking big campaign donations from. Wall Street knows Gary Peters’ talk is cheap, but the Wall Street cash he rakes in isn’t.
