NUNN: Today we are commemorating through service and remembrance 9/11. We remember the lives lost, we also remember those who rushed into those burning buildings, and we remember the military men and women who rose to serve in the wake of 9/11 and to those who have served our country so many different ways. We started out putting together food bags for families that need a little bit of extra assistance. Over 300 bags that were prepared through churches that came together and through the Atlanta Community Food Bank and Hands-On Atlanta and corporations like Bank of America and AT&T, showing the power of what happens when we work together and when we are committed to solving problems together. And now I'm here in Columbus and we've been painting and refurbishing a home through House of Heroes. They do tremendous work, have helped over 500 veteran families by helping repair and renovate their homes and pay honor to those who have served and sacrificed for our country. It's been a day in which we were reminded that so much unites us as Americans and that we have the capacity to work together and to make a difference in one another's lives.
