HILL: Just before we were married, my husband Kenny's lung collapsed. We were terrified – not just for his life but because he didn't have health insurance. He had to have emergency surgery and was hospitalized for 11 days. Thankfully he recovered, but we had to start our lives together with $200,000 in medical debt. We have a moral duty to ensure that every American gets the care they need at a price they can afford.
