Jessica González-Rojas

Jessica González-Rojas Represents New York State's 34th District in the New York State Assembly. She assumed office on January 1, 2021.

González-Rojas earned her bachelor's degree in international relations from Boston University and a master's degree in public administration with a concentration in public and nonprofit management and public policy from NYU's Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service. She has also completed a certificate program in management at Columbia University's Graduate School of Business.

From 2002 to 2006, González-Rojas served on the New York State Democratic Committee for the 39th Assembly District. She has also served as a community liaison in two district offices of Congresswoman Nydia M. Velasquez. González-Rojas served 11 years on the board of directors of New Immigrant Community Empowerment. She also served as an advisory member for organizations like Law Students for Reproductive Justice, Raising Women's Voices Campaign, the We Belong Together Campaign and as a board member for both the Medical Students for Choice and the Latina Political Action Committee. González-Rojas was an adjunct professor of Latino and Latin American studies at the City University of New York's City College, teaching courses on reproductive rights, gender and sexuality. Additionally she was the executive director at the National Latina Institute of Reproductive Health, the only reproductive justice organization specifically for Latinas.
