Biography

Susan Brooks served as the U.S. Representative for Indiana's 5th District from 2013-2021.

Brooks was born in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, on August 25, 1960, and graduated from Homestead High School. She received her B.A. from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, in 1982, and her J.D. from Indiana University in 1985.

Previously, Brooks has served as deputy mayor of Indianapolis, practiced law at an Indianapolis law firm, served as a U.S. attorney for the Southern District of Indiana, and as senior vice president and general counsel for Ivy Tech Community College. She has served on numerous boards and received many awards for her accomplishments.
