Sue Myrick represented North Carolina's 9th District in the United States House of Representatives from 1995 to 2013.

Myrick was born August 1, 1941, in Tiffin, Ohio. She attended Heidelberg College from 1959 to 1960. In 1995, she received an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from Heidelberg College.

Prior to serving in Congress, Myrick served as president/CEO of Myrick Advertising and Public Relations and Myrick Enterprises. From 1983 to 1985, she served on the Charlotte (NC) City Council and, from 1987 to 1991, as mayor of Charlotte.
