Biography
Sara Gideon served in the Maine House of Representatives from 2012-2020. She was the 2020 Democratic nominee for the U.S. Senate, losing to incumbent Susan Collins. Gideon was born on December 4, 1971, and raised in Rhode Island. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in international affairs from George Washington University in 1994. Gideon began her political career as an intern for U.S. Senator Claiborne Pell. After moving to Maine in 2004, she served on the Freeport Town Council. She was elected to the Maine House in 2012. In 2014, she became the assistant majority leader and in 2016, she was elected to serve as speaker.Political Ads
