Biography

Pam Bondi served as U.S. attorney general from February 4, 2025 to April 2, 2026. Previously, she served as Florida's attorney general from 2011-2019, the first woman to serve in this role. 

Bondi was born on November 17, 1965 in Tampa, Florida. She earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from the University of Florida in 1987 and graduated from Stetson University College of Law with a J.D. in 1990. Upon passing the Florida bar, Bondi worked as a prosecutor from 1991-2009. 

In 2010, Bondi was elected as Florida's attorney general and was reelected in 2014. In 2020, after the end of her term, she was appointed to President Trump's legal defense team during his first Senate impeachment trial. On November 21, 2024, President Trump announced Bondi as his nominee for U.S. attorney general.
