Nancy A. Dunkel was a member of the Iowa House of Representatives, representing District 57 from 2013 to 2017. Dunkel was the first woman to chair the Iowa Bankers Association.

Dunkel, of Dyersville, Iowa, is a respected leader in the banking industry and an inspirational role model for women in business. She has held many positions in bank leadership roles, including majority shareholder and the president of a bank holding company. She has been a dedicated advocate of the banking industry and a mentor for other women to be successful in business, rise to higher positions and hold board seats.

Dunkel is currently the Executive Director of the Dyersville Area Community Foundation. She retired from Fidelity Bank & Trust in 2010 and previously worked at State Bank in Worthington, Iowa, and Farley State Bank. She is past chair of the Dyersville Area Chamber of Commerce and also the Dubuque Chamber of Commerce. She presently serves as a board member of Stonehill Franciscan Services, Finley Hospital, Principal Bank, Operation New View, and the Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois. She also volunteered for SCORE, a free service to startup businesses and entrepreneurs. At the state level, she chaired the Targeted Small Business Program and is also a member of the Main Street Iowa Advisory Board.

Dunkel was born in Manchester, Iowa, in 1955. She was inducted into the Iowa Women's Hall of Fame in 2011.
