LuAnn Bennett was the 2016 Democratic nominee for the U.S. House of Representatives in Virginia's 10th congressional district, but lost to incumbent Barbara Comstock in the general election.

Bennett was born on October 3, 1953, in Highland, Illinois. She earned her bachelor's degree in education from Eastern Illinois University. She and her husband Richard moved to Virginia in 1980 and started a real estate business. She served as an appointee of then-Governor Tim Kaine on Virginia's Climate Change Commission, the Virginia Health Care Foundation, the I Have a Dream Foundation, Turnaround for Children, and the National Children's Museum.
