Katrina Pierson is a Tea Party activist and communications consultant. She was the national spokesperson for the Donald Trump 2016 presidential campaign and is a senior advisor for his 2020 campaign.

Pierson was born in Kansas on July 20, 1976. She grew up in poverty with her single mother and became a teen mother herself in 1996 at the age of 19. She received an associate of science degree from Kilgore College and a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Texas at Dallas. After college, she worked for InVentiv Health in 2008, the Baylor Health Care System from 2009 to 2011, and AGS Software Solutions as director of corporate affairs from May 2011 to December 2012. She held a variety of positions before working for the 2016 Trump campaign.

Pierson began her political career with the 2014 Texas congressional race when she challenged incumbent Rep. Pete Sessions in the Republican primary. In November 2015, she was hired as the national spokesperson for Trump’s presidential campaign. After the election, she began work for America First Policies, a pro-Trump group.
