Katrina Pierson is a Tea Party activist and Communications consultant. She was the national spokesperson for the Donald Trump 2016 presidential campaign.
Pierson was born in Kansas on July 20, 1976. She grew up in poverty with her single mother and became a teen mother herself in 1996 at the age of 19. She received an associate of science degree from Kilgore College and a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Texas at Dallas. After college, she worked for InVentiv Health in 2008, the Baylor Health Care System from 2009 to 2011, and for AGS Software Solutions as director of corporate affairs from May 2011 to December 2012, and then a variety of jobs before working for the Trump campaign.
Pierson began her political career in the 2014 Texas congressional elections when she challenged incumbent Congressman Pete Sessions in the Republican primary. She lost by 22 points. In November 2015, she was hired as the national spokesperson for Trump’s campaign. After the election, she began work for America First Policies, a pro-Trump group, and has been hired as a senior adviser for the Trump 2020 campaign.
