Biography

Jasmine Crockett assumed office as the U.S. representative for Texas’ 30th District on Jan. 3, 2023. 

Crockett was born on March 29, 1981, in St. Louis, Missouri. She graduated from Rhodes College in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts in business administration and from the University of Houston Law Center in 2006 with a Juris Doctor. Before entering public office, Crockett served as a public defender and a civil rights and personal injury attorney. 

Before being elected to the U.S. House, Crockett served one term in the Texas House of Representatives (2021-2023), representing the 100th district. She ran for the U.S. Senate in 2026, losing in the primary.
