Biography

Dana Balter was the 2018 and 2020 Democratic nominee for the U.S. House of Representatives for New York's 24th Congressional District. 

Balter earned a master's degree in public administration from the University of Connecticut and is a Ph.D. candidate at the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs. She began her career as a special education teacher at a nonprofit organization that provides support services to adults with cognitive disabilities, moving to director of education and then director of marketing and communications. She is now a visiting assistant teaching professor at the Maxwell School, teaching courses in citizenship, policy, administration and democracy.
