Colleen Deacon was the 2016 Democratic nominee for the U.S. House of Representatives from New York's 24th District, but lost in the general election.

Deacon was born and raised in Syracuse, New York, and graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in English. She worked six years as the press secretary for Syracuse Mayor Matt Driscoll before joining Senator Kirsten Gillibrand's office as regional director for Central New York for another six years.
