Abigail Davis Spanberger is the governor-elect of Virginia, and will be the state's first female governor. She previously served as the U.S. representative for Virginia's 7th Congressional District from 2019 to 2025.

Spanberger served as a Senate page for U.S. Senator Chuck Robb (D-VA). She graduated from the University of Virginia, then earned her M.B.A. from a dual-degree program between GISMA Business School in Germany and Purdue University. She began her career as a federal law enforcement officer with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, later joining the CIA as an operations officer. In 2014, she began working at EAB (formerly Royall & Company).
