ANNOUNCER: She was raised in the Black Belt by preachers and teachers who taught her the importance of faith, hard work, personal responsibility and getting an education. Living these values has opened the doors of opportunity for Terri Sewell. She was Selma High School's first black valedictorian, and with the help of summer jobs and scholarships, Terri graduated college and law school. As an economic development attorney, Terri Sewell help create public partnerships that allowed infrastructure projects to flourish and create jobs. Sewell will use that experience in Congress to attract new economic development projects—projects that will create jobs for West Alabama. Sewell’s jobs plan will provide incentives to companies to bring jobs here and expand federal funding for job training programs for the unemployed.
